The principal or the vice principal with the support of the HR dept. select the applicants who will receive a screening interview, and they contact these applicants to schedule a first interview with the subject coordinator. A response of regret is sent to the other candidates whose credentials do not match the job openings. In the initial screening stage, interviewers should ensure that those applying for a teaching position have the following qualifications:
|1. Bachelor’s degree in education or the respective subject area from a recognized University|
|2. Teaching Diploma in the respective discipline of instruction unless the bachelor’s degree is in education|
|3. Minimum of four years of teaching experience ( Preferred in the UAE )|
|4. Competency in technology and information literacy|
However, priority is given to a facilitator that has the following:
- Minimum IELTS Academic score of six or equivalent for non-native English speakers and those who have completed their education in a language other than English, in any School delivering a curriculum in English.
- Being bilingual in Arabic/English or any other language as per the School’s needs is preferred.
|5. The following documents are required from all applicants:
a- Equivalence of the university degree from the UAE Ministry of Higher Education;
b- All certificates and diplomas must be attested by the origin country’s MOE and MOFA, and the UAE embassy in that country;
c- Latest personal photo (color with white background);
d- Photocopy of Emirates ID (for residents);
e- Photocopy of passport (valid for at least six months);
f- Photocopy of Family Record (for citizens);
g- Photocopy of Residence visa (for residents).
h- Police Clearance from the country of origin attested by the MOFA, MOI, and the UAE Embassy of that country.
|6. For the position of a subject or cycle facilitator:
a- Complete the identification documents;
b- The applicants must obtain the police clearance from the UAE authorized authority if the applicant has been in the UAE for at least six months. Newcomers (less than six months in the UAE) must bring the criminal status from the last country they worked in and their home country. (This must be issued no more than six months prior to submitting the application attested by the different authorities as cited above).
c- CV (only typed copies will be accepted).
d- For holders of BA in Education: photocopy of the qualification.
e- For holders of relevant university degrees, please provide the following:
|7. For the position of a facilitator assistant holding a relevant university degree without an educational qualification, provide the following:
a- Photocopy of the qualification
b- Photocopy of the transcript showing the credit hours
c- A letter from a university informing that the applicant is registered in an approved educational program either for a specific specialization or a specific stage
|9. For Vice Principals, applications must be posted via eSIS with all required qualifications:
a- Master Degree in education or a university degree in a relevant area with an educational qualification.
b- Completing the rest of the documents and steps as explained in the relevant policy and completing all the required documents (attested as required).
10. For the Head of the SEN department, SEN educators and SENCOs, applications must be posted via eSIS with all required qualifications and along with the below must required experience :
For Head of the SEN Department : At least 10 years of related experience.
For the SENCO : At least 6 years of related experience.
For the SEN Educators : At least 4 years of related experience.
The first interview will take place with the coordinator during which the candidate should also prepare a lesson to be observed by the coordinator. If the facilitator is recommended by the coordinator then a second interview will be scheduled with the principal and/or vice principal.
The principal and/or vice principal will meet with all those who are in charge to decide on whether to consider the candidate for the specific position.
The principal or other involved personnel contact the chosen candidates for a final short interview to choose the best candidate. In this step, they ask the candidates for letters of reference.
The candidates are contacted by the Human Resource Senior Officer to discuss the offer. In this step, the candidates are requested to provide the necessary documents mentioned in Step 1 in addition to :
- Degrees and diplomas attested at country of origin and attested by the UAE MOE.
- Official college transcripts attested at country of origin
- Copy of passport, etc.
*Other documents may be required as per ADEK requirements during the ADEK approval process for the candidate.
